All the way from the U.S.A The Groan Box Boys will be appearing at The Lyric Theatre in Bridport on Friday November 11th at 7.30 pm
They will be performing their original mix of blues, cajun, gypsie and blue grass, employing an eclectic set of instruments that include accordion,gourd banjo, calabash, keys, tin cans and a rudimentary drum hewn from a Yew log, they explore a wide ranging tapestry of world music, channeling them into a meld of dusty folk blues and stomping rhythms.
Their acclaimed accordion player Micheal Wood-Bergeman is undertaking an insane 365 day accordion challenge, this means he must perform with his squeeze box every day of the year! You can follow his accordion-athon ‘gig 365’ on facebook.
The North American Trio are promoting their 5th album “Guts Lungs and Bones” released on Monday October 31st.
