If Bridport’s gardeners find themselves just too fruity or have a glut of vegetables and gourds the Hive Beach Cafe has a brilliant new scheme. From 10am to 11am each day the café will swap every 2lbs of produce for a coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
As part of an ongoing commitment to support the local community and to make the most of the seasonal goodies and windfalls, cooking apples, plums, pumpkins and pears will be turned into cakes, preserves, and desserts for the Hive whilst customers enjoy the fruits of their labours and relax over morning coffee.
The Fruit & Veg Exchange will run throughout October and continue until the end of November… or until all the seasonal bounty runs out!
