I had to talk to Bridport fuzz and having no time to visit decided to phone them. Where did my call go ? to a call centre in Bournemouth..The kind lady had no idea about Bridport and no local knowledge and explained that she would e_mail ? the duty sergeant somewhere? and if he decided it was important he would get the local fuzz to contact me! No wonder the crime figures are down – you cannot talk to them… She didn't know about Bridport or even where the sergeant was, and of course no-one contacted me.
Of course I could have gone to the nick… Then though my letter box comes a Police propoganda sheet saying what great guys they are and how well they are achieving targets.
Incidently what happened to the bobby on every corner by April that Mr Davenport wrote about some time ago ? I saw two new (rather small) support officers in town the other day ..what were they doing ? checking on the radio to see if they could go back in as it was raining ? Perhaps they were paper cut outs after all. The summer season is starting again and the troublemakers will be out in force ..will the fuzz ever learn that to actually see what's going on you need to get out of the car ? Happy summer greetings to all local residents.
DELBOY IN BRIDPORT

It sounds like your own attitude to the police may have someting to do with their relcutance to contact you. When you phoned the “”””FUZZ”””” and got through to bournemouth did you tell the nice lady that you couldnt contact the “”””FILTH “””” and that there were no “”””PIGS”””” on the street and the “”””OLD BILL”””” station was empty cos all the “”””ROZZERS”””” were hiding from the rain. How do you expect respect when you have none. unless of course you are called Rodney King and live in america and then you may have a point. Try calling them by their proper names and see where it gets you, just a thought dell boy.
Dear Mr Rustic, are you job?
Happy SUMMER?!!! Are you having a laugh? As for the Police, any chance of furnishing us with the details of your call? I BET that’s where the comedy is for this article!
Your attitude towards the police could change for the better if you read a few Police Blogs. This one is a good starting point and the links to other Police Blogs too. Inspector Gadget
Dear Delboy While I respect your right to a valid opinion regarding the ‘Bridport Fuzz’ as you call them, I would point out that your comment re ’two new (rather small) support officers in town the other day' smacks of heightism. Research has shown that the reason the height restriction was removed from the requirement to join any British police force was on the priciple that the height restriction prejudiced Asians, who are genetically smaller than Europeans. If by ‘support officers’ you are referring to ‘Police Community Support Officers’. The ones I have seen are walking about the beat far, far more than ordinary constables (apart from PC McGregor who is always walking about town doing his job). I haven’t heard anyone refer to the police as ‘The Fuzz’ since the 70’s. Does this indicate you are in a time warp and stuck in your own little golden world instead of moving on with the times?
I think Delboy has been watching “”””Life On mars””””. Was a good series though. It is amazing that we are always encouraged to call the police about crime, but when you do you are given the runaround. If you get redirected less than 3 times, you are doing well.
