Charity launches interactive local debt help guide for West Dorset.
Britain’s leading debt charity, the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS), has launched an online Debt Help Guide for people living in West Dorset.
The guide details where to get free advice on housing, benefits and other money matters and features an interactive map showing debt help centres in the area.
The Government’s plan to cut ½ million public sector jobs will have serious consequences for areas like West Dorset, where public sector employment is so concentrated.
Paula Searle, Head of E-Services at CCCS said, “Many people in West Dorset are concerned about how the Coalition’s spending cuts will affect them.
“West Dorset has a very high percentage of its workforce employed in this sector – a huge 40%. Many of them will be worried about the possibility of a sudden dramatic loss of income.
“This guide will be a useful resource for people in West Dorset who are worried about their finances and looking for help and advice.”
