Crippled container ship MSC Napoli, abandoned by its crew during violent storms in the English Channel, has been run aground off Branscome, Devon to stop it sinking. The ship, with wide cracks on both sides and listing heavily has been shedding containers full of goods from shampoo to BMW motorcycles all up the Jurassic Coast, this reporter went down The Bay and found nothing but oil covered, biscuits (for dogs, cats and humans).
It is thought that up to 200 tonnes of oil may have leaked from a fuel tank. Efforts are now underway to keep the oil from reaching the shore. Salvage crews are working to pump the remaining fuel oil off. While locals up and down the coast are looking for treasure from the containers that have gone overboard. Do be advised that you are legally required to declare any booty you may find.

Whilst the flying vermin have been oil covered, ive not had to wake up in the light of dawn to the sound of the 200 decibel seagull chorus. So its not all bad news !! On another note, i went down to Branscombe beach this week. It was good to see the emergency police hut being used to keep half a dozen officers warm, whilst the rest were on the beach guarding the err pebbles i guess !!
