Local businessman Doug Palmer, who runs a camera shop at the bottom of West Street in Bridport,was witness to a U.F.O.sighting in Bridport on Tuesday the 7th.at 14.53 p.m.
Mr Palmer, a self confessed sceptic when it comes to extraterrestial activity, was relaxing at home on the Northern outskirts of Bridport when he was surprised at at seeing an oval shape object travelling northward.
Visibility was good and the object was travelling at an angle in a dipping motion, ‘ rather like a spinning top about to topple viewed from the side’ he said. The object was travelling in a straight line and was in view for about 45 seconds, as he took several shots with a Canon digital compact camera.
Mr. Palmer just aimed the camera in the general view of the U.F.O. and took two shots before it disappeared behind some trees to his left.
If anyone else saw the object or maybe intersted in talking to Mr. Palmer he would be more than pleased to see you in his shop.

A UFO has been reported flying over Dorset for the second time this summer.
PC Scott McGregor, lead officer in Bridport’s Safer Neighbourhood Team, revealed news of the latest sighting on Twitter @BridPoliceSNT: “UFO sightings in the Bridport area 7th June and now another last night #wearenotalone”
Pc McGregor said the first incident reported to Dorset Police occurred on June 7th at 1453hrs in the Bothenhampton area, just east of Bridport.
He went on: “The second one occurred at approx 2140hrs Wed 17th Aug… sighting was again over the area of Bothenhampton. ‘UFO sighted travelling at speed in excess of that of a conventional aircraft… Changing shape several times… with bright lights object was sighted for approx 40mins’.”
Both incidents have been logged by Dorset Police.
