Nationally renown pianist and composer, Phillip Clouts is to perform alongside the sassy and exciting Emma Blake at Beach and Barnicott, South St, Bridport on Friday March 2nd from 9pm.
A versatile and unusual figure on the Jazz scene, Phillip is best known for his popular London based band Zubop, a fusion of jazz/roots.
His work covers an impressive range of styles in an infectiously enjoyable manner. Born in South Africa, Clout’s music is permeated by references to this origin and reflects a happy, unfettered style.
Accompanied on this occasion by Emma Blake, with a vocal background covering blues, soul, folk and opera, Emma’s voice has been described as pure gold-rich and sonorous yet entertainingly agile.
