It has become apparent in the recent holiday rush on the roads, in particular the A35 between The Travellers Rest at Uploders and the old Frodsham Motors site at Morcombelake, that Chideock and the roads leading into (and out of, of course) could really do with some sort of selective cleansing process in order to free up OUR roads from short sighted arrogant members of The Caravan Club who have travelled the length and breadth of the country in order to cause a bottleneck of traffic around Bridport.
Whereas the tractor drivers in the area all take orders from ‘The Boss’, whom Bridport Radio has learned is infact the Head of Rural Affairs at DEFRA, on their CB’s in the winter to ensure a continued and highly frustrating never ending queue of traffic, the caravanners seem to communicate on small devices known as ‘Mobile Telephones’ to make sure they don’t lose sight of one another.
The DVLA has issued these official guidelines for towing a caravan, and kindly forwarded them to local parish councillors ready for their next meeting about ‘The By-Pass Which Will Never Happen’.

RE: CARAVAN MAYHEM
Tchibo do a range of cheap vehicle mounted RPGs just the job for clearing the roads ahead.
RE: CARAVAN MAYHEM
I may have outlined this proposal before…but a Caravan Curfew should be implemented. The curfew will run from 6am till 12 midnight, limiting the use of roads for caravans between the hours of 12 midnight and 6am. Campsites “”””releasing”””” caravans before 11:45pm will be closed down and fined. In addition to this curfew will be a Caravan Confiscation Law to enable caravans that have been stranded after midnight to be removed from lay-bys, verges etc. and torched with their towing vehicles still attached. Tchibo are willing to sponsor the above legislation and have provided their own Tchibo-brand Molotov Cocktails to be used when torching the vigilante caravans. The Tchibo petrol bomb is unique in that the petrol has been substituted for a synthetic fuel that burns at twice the ferocity and temperature of standard unleaded. These items are available from all leading outlets in the Westcountry. Please get permission from an adult before you buy them. Other details of Tchibo’s anti-caravan attack equipment are available on request.
RE: CARAVAN MAYHEM
How come people can tow a caravan, which is in effect, a home on wheels without paying any kind of road tax? the tax we pay for having a vehicle is high, but these “”””nightmare towers”””” are allowed to haul a thing on wheels thats bigger in every direction than a vehicle, taking up far more space and being a real pain in the butt with their lack of driving skills, and they dont pay a penny in taxes for the privilege! and some kind of COMPULSORY test should be passed before they are even allowed to use the roads, particularly with regard to reversing! Thats what I think, tax ’em hard, and make ’em capable!
Caravans They sholud only be allowed to move under the cover of darkness, between the hours of midnite and 4.00am, thus avoiding all normal people. Mothers who think they are special enough to double park outside the primary school and block the traffic so little johnnie wont have to walk 50 yards down the road to the car. The excercise might do him some good. People who drive too fast up Victoria Grove. Chavs. People who use the slipway and pontoon at West Bay but can\’t actualy moor a boat alongside the pontoon without crashing into it at speed. Blah Blah Blah Maybe I\’ll change my name to Victor Meldrew.
