Entries for this years Melplash Show Society garden competition close 5pm on Wednesday 9th June 2010.
This competition is open to all gardens or allotments within the 12 mile radius of Melplash Church, not employing a gardener for more than 8 hours per week.
As well as the classes on the day to find the best locally grown vegetables and flowers, the Agricultural Society’s Gardens Competition provides all local gardeners the opportunity to get their hard work in the garden recognised. The categories judged are best small, medium and large gardens.
Prizes for Best Gardens
- THE FOWLER ROSE BOWL presented by MR & MRS DAVID FOWLER will be awarded to the Best Large Garden
- THE PITCHER TROPHY presented by MR & MRS C PITCHER will be awarded to the Best Medium Garden
- THE MELPLASH AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY SHIELD will be awarded to the Best Small Garden.
- THE ALFIE PARKER AND JIMMY WATTS PERPETUAL MEMORIAL CUP presented by A J C PALMER, ESQ and C W R PALMER, ESQ will be presented to the Best Overall Garden.
