Wacky Hair for Hospicecare

Could you help your local hospice by taking part in Wacky Hair Day 2016?

As part of Hospice Care Week (3rd to 7th October) Weldmar Hospicecare Trust are asking local schools, clubs, organisations and businesses to put on a wig, spray their hair, spike it up, colour it; just generally go wild on Friday 7th October for Wacky Hair for Hospicecare.

This is the sixth year of the Wacky Hair Day, which has so far raised over £5,000.

Diane Bentley, Weldmar’s Community Fundraiser for south Dorset said “It is a really easy event to get involved in. We ask people who are taking part to pay £1 for the privilege to let their hair down for the day. It is a great way to support your local hospice and have some fun at the same time”.

You could encourage your colleagues or school friends to wear a mullet, be inspired by Tina Turner or wear a wig for each colour of the rainbow.

Weldmar cares for patients with cancer and other progressive conditions, such as motor neurone disease, who require specialist help. Patients in north, south and west Dorset have a seamless service, whether they require care and advice in the comfort of their own homes, in the Wellbeing Centres or the inpatient unit at Joseph Weld Hospice. They need to raise over £10,000 every single day to pay for their services, and could not do this without the support of the people of Dorset.

To get involved, sign up online at www.weld-hospice.org.uk/wackyhair or call the fundraising team on 01305 261800. You will receive a fundraising pack with everything you need for the day and you may even receive a visit from Weldbaa, the official mascot for Weldmar.
