No racist comments please The famous Black Buoy Swim is a race that is approximately 1200 metres to a marker buoy and back, and has proven to be immensely popular for both participants and spectators.
Taking place at West Bay this Sunday 12th September this will be the 104th year of the race, which dates back to 1907.
The race is being organised by the Bridport-based Barracudas Swimming Club and the winners' cups provided by Bridport Swimming Club.
The race is approx. 1200 metres to a marker buoy and back from a standing start on the beach. Entrants must be competent sea swimmers and should be residents of Bridport & surrounding areas. Minimum age 14.
Entry forms available from Bridport Leisure Centre, Bridport Sports and Bridport Tourist Information Centre. Closing date for entries is 1st September.
Alternative dates if conditions are unsuitable are 12th and 19th September.
