Greening Your Business

A series of environmental workshops at the Miles Cross Farm training centre, in Symondsbury, aimed at small businesses in the area to help them implement green initiatives, many which can be introduced for little or no cost.

The first workshop will be held on 28 July, 9.15-13.00, and this session will be free, giving delegates the opportunity to discuss how implementing green initiatives can help improve a businesses’ resource efficiency. The aim is to provide delegates with practical advice and information they can use once back at work, and encourage them to set and develop their own environmental objectives.

In this first session they will also be providing information about Business Link’s Improve Your Resource Efficiency programme which provides 50% match funding for SMEs who wish to go green. Certain criteria applies, and the minimum amount for a project is £2,000, where the business receives £1,000, but this government funding is set to continue for another couple of years and should be able to help businesses do more.

There will be a series of workshops over a number of months, which will focus on different areas including recycling and waste reduction and energy efficiency.
