Lively Tamsin Loudon has set herself on a new career path – to help other women in the Bridport area look good and feel great about themselves. Tamsin (45) was working happily as the marketing manager for Bridport Arts Centre until the chance came up to join the image company House of Colour.
‘It was a work colleague in my old job at Gulf Oil who first introduced me to colour analysis. Ann looked so good after she’d been to the class that I went along too and I’ve been interested in it ever since’, said Tamsin.
Now Tamsin has opened her own House of Colour consultancy in Burton Bradstock and is on a mission to help other women in the area find their confidence in the same way.
‘After the class, I felt and looked more alive, enjoyed shopping more and had lots of appreciative comments. Then along came the opportunity to open my own consultancy, so I said goodbye to my friends and colleagues at the Arts Centre and hello to a colourful new career.’
Tamsin says that every woman has the potential to improve the way they look:
‘Like most people I used to wear 20% of my clothes 80% of the time. We’ve all done it – bought some outfit on impulse and then stuffed it to the back of the wardrobe to gather mothballs.
‘But since attending the colour analysis course and the image session, I have learned some simple tricks to help make the best of my own appearance and more importantly, I have the confidence and understanding to buy the right colours and styles which means less impulse buying and less waste.’
Tamsin is confident that in her new role as a colour consultant she can help women to look good all the time – and save money too.
‘The secret is in choosing clothes that harmonise with your colouring, body shape and personality,’ said Tamsin. ‘And once you know how to do that, you can save time and money by user fewer but more co-ordinated clothes. I can guarantee that afterwards you will look and feel better about yourself.
‘Here in my studio, I will be running colour sessions for small groups. We’re flexible and we’re here to help. And don’t be misguided into thinking this is just for career women – every woman has the potential to look good, and why shouldn’t she?’
As Tamsin prepares for her new life as a colour consultant does she have any doubts or regrets about the friends and the career she has left behind?
‘I had a great nine years at the Arts Centre and have a lot of good friends there. The venue has some exciting redevelopment plans underway. However, now I am really enjoying this new challenge.’
And with the lighter evenings of spring on the way, there couldn’t be a better time to bring some colour into people’s lives.
