Bring your dancing shoes, come ready to party, be prepared for English weather but no wellies needed as it’s mud free!. The Big Mix is Lyme’s own music festival by the sea, providing an eclectic mix of upbeat and groove based acts including Latin, jazz, rock, rap, folk and electronic – a showcase of some of the most exciting vibrant young musicians around. Guaranteed to get you dancing and a great day out for everybody followed by an after event at The Harbour with DJ’s; James Baker, Sahara Head, Will & DJ Ayvin.
The one day music festival line up includes around 25 young acts from the area, providing 10 hours of music 1 till 11pm in the Theatre Square main stage and terrace, featuring a selection of fantastic musicians/singer/ songwriters and DJ’s.. including special guests: Kash Folding, Magic Drum Orchestra, Define Weird, Wildwood Kin, Grime District, Sahara Head , DJ James Baker , Stony Browder Jr.
The music and dancing will continue late into the night after closes, 11.15 till late, at The Harbour, DJs
This years headline act is Stony Browder Jnr a dynamic 9 piece band, who play fast and funky mutant disco and are touring throughout Europe, gathering devoted fans along the way! Papa Le Gal, last year’s headliners, who have shared a stage with them and know they are just the act for the final party spot, has recommended them. “We always wanted an upbeat, party band to end the night”, said Pete Wild, co-organiser of The Big Mix

In conjunction with the Marine Theatre, Aroma Pop Up Café and ‘Fat Dads’ BBQ, there will be delicious food, refreshments, 18+ bar, hammocks, deckchairs, stalls and daytime children’s activities. Its not too late if you would like to set up an activity yourself.

Organisers of this years Big Mix festival in Lyme Regis have released details of the headline act who are performing at this years event on July 5th The festival, which is run by B Sharp music charity for young people. The one day music festival includes around 25 young acts from the South West. This years headline act is Stony Browder Jnr a dynamic 9 piece band, who play fast and funky mutant disco and are touring throughout Europe, gathering devoted fans along the way! Papa Le Gal, last year’s headliners, who have shared a stage with them and know they are just the act for the final party spot.”We always wanted an upbeat, party band to end the night”, said Pete Wild, co-organiser of The Big Mix, “and when JV from Papa’ showed us footage of Stony Browder, we knew they were perfect. They are a true up and coming band who are touring extensively and have a real musicality, so they will complement our young musicians perfectly.”
This years lineup provides 10 hours of non stop music; an eclectic mix of upbeat and groove based acts including disco, jazz, rock, rap, Latin, indie, folk and electronic music.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Lyme Bay in the Theatre Square, next to the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis, this one-day music festival is back by popular demand, bringing to your doorstep a showcase of some of the most exciting vibrant young music acts around. Last year audiences swelled throughout the day with everyone dancing into the night.
B Sharp Director Fran Williams says “B Sharp, The Marine Theatre and our other festival partners learnt a lot last year about how to deliver a great festival; and this year promises to be better still, with ticketing, security, stage, sound, and catering all improved. All the proceeds will go back into the B Sharp Big Mix pot ensuring this event can run again in the future”.

Their work is both exciting and important in a rural seaside community and organisers anticipate supporters will come from far and wide across Dorset and Devon and the South West”
There will be children’s activities run by St Michael’s pre school, stalls, BBQ, the Aroma Pop Up cafe and the Theatre Bar (18+). All this plus the hammocks, flags and deckchairs are returning for a 2nd year.”
