I was on my usual nightly walk with my two german shepherds on the 25.5.07 around the Allington Hill / Coopers Wood area when I had a ghostly encounter with what seemed to be a male dog walker dressed all in black. This is the second late night sighting i have had in 2 weeks and i can assure that I am a fit bodied and minded person and had no alcohol prior to the sighting. A neighbour said I am not the first to see this and I would like to know if there has been any other reports made of a sighting or similar.

There has been another sighting of the ghost/presence in the Gundry Lane area. On Friday the 15th of this month an elderly lady walking up Gundry saw the ghost which has been sighted and reported to police at Bridders three times now. Apparently it takes the form of an elderly victorian gentleman. The ghost has been seen twice ‘walking’ out of the old custom and excise building across the road into the car park of the youth centre. On Friday the olderly lady was so shocked that she collapsed after running away. She was helped outside the Greyhound by the local constabulary and an ambulance was called. Did anyone see this happen?

I was out walking my dog on Friday wearing my black Macintosh in anticipation of the inclement weather when I came across this bloke with two German shepherds who appeared to be stuffing small pointy-capped mushrooms into his mouth. One of the German shepherds said something in German to the other one, which I didn’t quite catch and they then preceded to do some sort of Bavarian folk dance to the tune of “”””99 red balloons”””” Then the other bloke saw me and just stared at me pointing and saying “”””a ghost, a ghost Oh mummy help me”””” As you can imagine I was a bit concerned as this is the second time in a fortnight I have bumped into this anonymous nutter. The last time he was smoking a crack pipe while his two German shepherd friends adjusted each other’s leather shorts. Has anyone else had an encounter with this loon?

I had a ghostly encounter with a bowl of Shreddies this morning…apart from that I don’t believe in Father Christmas, Fairies & Pixies, the whole King Authur myth, omnipresent beings OR GHOSTS. He was a person walking his dog and if you’d had the common courtesy to say “”””good evening””””, you’d probably not have come across as a loon!

it seems goatboy the bank-holiday-bandit did come back at the weekend but is keeping a low profile (just a few small(minded)comments about us having chips on our shoulders and an inferiority complex)…still offensive, but it hardly seemed worth it… i rekon he’s either A; upset that his opinions are laughed at or dispised -and is holed up in a corner somewhere with a fire extinguisher. B;had to go back to work, HA. C; he’s “”””busy”””” with tuzo? D; he’s gone to have a word with himself. Sadly i don’t think its the last one.

SET THE HOUNDS ON THIS ANONYMOUS FOOL!!!People walk on allington hill, for whatever reasons…If you go up there walking your dogs (around the same time each evening)then youre going to bump into the SAME others on their evening stroll. They may avoid you because they don’t like dogs/you, but to assume the supernatural is just plain bonkers! —besides, everyone knows that ‘real’ ghosts are white.

oooh sensitive. -are you using another anonymous pseudonym now ? ? Well, i’ve seen a lot of strange things in my time but if i were up on the hill and saw a human-shaped form, i would think ‘human’. Even if i was startled or afraid of the dark i would feel pretty foolish telling people i’d seen a ghost. No offence. I saw a 5ft figure made of what looked like water once… walked right across the lane and merged into a nearby tree before disappearing, -but i think my woodbines might’ve been spiked, y’know…

Re the ghost in Gundry Lane. I heard that two youth workers in the youth club at the bottom of Gundry Lane heard loud banging and screaming in the loft area of the youth club at a time when there couldn’t possibly have been anyone there. Having explored the loft area (well as far as the hatch), it was found to be empty and the banging stopped, only to resume when they closed the hatch. After a quick change of underpants the whole thing was repeated the following night. Possibly Arthur Woodgate may wish to comment on the validity of this story?
there was a ghost in Fenwicks..the young assistants didnt like going upstairs to do the stock taking as he threw boots at them.. someones grandfather i believe.
Yes, I heard about he Fenwicks boot throwing ghost. He was finaly prosecuted and put to rest by the Health and Safety Executive.
Nah it wasn’t an old bloke. It was Grace! She looked like an 80 year old tranny ghost with tattooed on eye-brows. Does anyone know if she’s still alive? If anyone should have a bench/monument in their name in Bridders it should be Grace. She’s personally reponsible for clothing every Bridport child for over 2 generations!
