Bridport Museum’s Village Project Roadshow is now well underway. The project began last year with visits to Shipton Gorge, Symondsbury and Chideock. All of these villages kindly hosted the Museum and were well attended with lots of people enjoying sharing memories of their village over a cup of tea.
The Museum has been invited to join Burton Bradstock’s Jubilee Celebrations over the Bank Holiday weekend. Residents of Burton past and present are invited along to share memories, photographs and memorabilia at the Village Hall on Saturday 2 June between 11am-3pm.
Museum staff have a display of photographs of the village from its collection. They also hope to collect more memories to add to its archive. People will also be able to find out more about the archives and resources held at the Local History Centre in Gundry Lane, should they wish to do their own research.
The Museum is looking to move onto another village soon, so do get in touch if you would like them to come to you! Email the office at office@bridportmuseum.co.uk or call 01308 458703.
