Salsa Celebration
Fruits of the Earth's Spicy Summer Salsa Celebration. As part of the Bridport Festival week this event will take place on the forecourt of the Bridport Arts Centre at 12.30pm on Wednesday 16th June. Participants are invited to bring their own unique pickle, chutney or fresh salsa to be tasted by invited professional chefs and fellow particpants. Tally Ho Wins Bronze
PALMERS Brewery of Bridport is celebrating winning a Bronze award for Tally Ho in the Strong Bitters class at the SIBA South West Region Beer Competition 2010. The event was held at Tuckers Maltings, Newton Abbot, where 74 South West brewers entered 344 cask ales.

Battle of the Beers
A CONTEST to find the South West’s champion bottled beer is being overseen this week [25 March] by Palmers’ head brewer Darren Batten.
Four of Palmers’ own bottled beers are among the 153 brews entered for the Society of Independent Brewers Association SW Bottled Beer Competition 2010. Palmers’ Dorset Gold is making its debut in bottles.
‘It’s the first bottling,’ said Darren, ‘out just in time for the competition. We’ve done it on draft for a long time and we’re pleased to be able to take the opportunity to see what people think of the bottled product. We think it’s fantastic, but it’s always good to get feedback.’

Wine Tasting
Palmers Wine Store run a monthly wine tasting society which is held in the brewery on the last Friday of each month. The evenings are usually themed around a region, producer or range of wines. This year we are fortunate that many of the tastings will be presented by both growers and producers. The evenings begin with a welcome drink and canapés followed by a tutored tasting of between eight and ten wines.
POWERSTOCK CIDER FESTIVAL
This years cider festival takes place this Friday 24th April from 6:30pm at Powerstock Hut. There will be 18 cider makers touting their fermented juice of the the forbidden fruit and food will also be available. Parking is always a nightmare so either get a taxi or park outside the village and walk in.

Potatoes, cabbage/greens, squashes, pumpkins, salads and soft fruit for the shop as well as cut flowers in season. The range of fruit and vegetables is supplemented by other produce from local farms as well as 'exotics' (oranges, bananas, avocadoes, etc.) and out of season produce from Bristol Wholesale Market.
We also sell bread from a local family run bakery. Meat and dairy produce is locally sourced wherever possible.

What is a Goujon? Well it ain’t far off a fish finger, Goujon is the French word for small, fried strips of fish, these bad boys were served piping hot with fresh sauce tartare, crispy green salad with a lovely light dressing, borlotti beans and doorstep slices of bread.
