The Lyric is delighted to have invited Full Beam Visual Theatre from Bristol to be Company-in-Residence for a week in February to present their unique production of My Baby Just Cares For Me Directed by Lizzie Philps. This will be the premiere of the company’s South West tour.
Using puppets, Super 8 projection, upside-down physicality and a rock n’ roll soundtrack, My Baby Just Cares For Me charts the intriguing and erratic course of a daughter’s love for her father through thick and thin. This sassy yet sensitive shows unpicks how to look after a parent in need in a world where pension plans don’t quite stack up.
Full Beam is becoming known for its innovative and contemporary way of using puppets with live actors, evocative music and visuals effects.
The show opens on Tuesday 19th Feb at 7.30pm with a special preview price of £6 and will run every night until Fri 22nd, 7.30pm. There is a matinee performance on Saturday 23rd Feb at 3pm for members of the community who would prefer a trip to the theatre during the day. All tickets (except preview) are £10.
