Did anyone see Great British Menu on BBC 2? our local lad and chef MARK HIX won the national competition. In fact he will cook 2 meals out of 4 for the French in the English high commission in France. Rabbit pie (stargazey pie) for the main coarse and fruit jelly with ice-cream for the pudding. Well done Mark. it goes to show that us Bridders folk are just as good or better than those outsiders that arrive in Bridport and think we are all country bumpkins down here. also mark went to Weymouth college so it shows you can get on round here with out going away to fancy colleges. he started chefing at Bridport arms in his school days. well done for mark and what a pity his dad was not alive to see him (knowing Ernie he was up there supping a pint looking down .lol)

Also, on the subject of racism,If someone who was blonde annoyed me and I fell out with them it doesn’t follow that I don’t like ALL blondes but if someone ethnic annoyed me and I fell out with them and didn’t like them any more would that be classed as racist? The best story I heard was, a load of people in an office were going to have a competittion for charity and were bringing in photo’s of each other as babies.The one who got the most right got the prize.One lady said ‘it’s no point me putting in a photo as it would be to easy’.Her friend was puzzled and said’but you have the same chance as anyone else’.’Well no,I’m the only coloured person in the office….’.
